GOIL PLC (GOIL) succeeded the marketing outfit of AGIP PETROLI, which was established in Ghana in June 1960. In 1974, the Government of Ghana acquired 100 percent shares and changed the Company's name to Ghana Oil Company Limited. GOIL was listed on The Ghana Stock Exchange in 2007. The Company's name changed to GOIL Company Limited in 2019, and later to GOIL PLC in 2021. This is to reflect GOIL's listed status as well as growth and expansion activities in the petroleum and other allied sectors. The Company has a nine-member Board of Directors, and a Management team headed by the Group CEO & Managing Director.
GOIL is one of the leading suppliers of Jet fuel into wing at the Kotoka International Airport, Takoradi Airforce Base and Kumasi Airport. GOIL through its strategic partners around the world is also able to offer Jet fuel at competitive terms at different airports across the globe.
GOIL PLC has attained the enviable Integrated Management System (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment) and has successfully been certified ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015.
GOCard is an electronic card system which provides prepaid services. It allows monitoring of fuel consumptions, eliminates the need to carry cash, and can be tailored to meet the needs of individuals and fleets. GOCard uses a state-of-the-art EMV encrypted chip with enhanced protection for card users.
